Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had extended his kingdom on the banks of rivers Nira and Koyana. In order to safeguard this area of his kingdom, he felt need to have a well-built fort. This fort is called Pratapgad . As per the records in the history, Pratapgad fort was built in the year 1657. Pratapgad is situated at 8 kilometres, west of Mahabaleshwar, in Jawali taluka of North Satara district.

This museum has the distinction of being one of the first art museum in India. The museum collection includes paintings and sculptures of various well-known artists including Raja Ravi Varma and the famous "Mother and Child" stone structure by Henry Moore. It also has various works of art by former alumni of the J.J. school of art such as M. V. Dhurandhar and Madhav Satwalekar. Menavli is a village about three kilometres from Wai. Menavli is home to wada (mansion) built by Nana Fadnavis, 18th century Maratha statesman and the regent of Peshwa Madhavrao II. In the Meneshwar temple a six hundred and fifty kilogram bell is mounted which was captured by Peshwa Bajirao I’s brother, Chimaji Appa, from a cathedral in the Portuguese fort at Bassein. Dated 1707, the five-alloy bell bears a bas-relief of Mary carrying the infant Jesus Christ cast into it. An ancient tree, with a massive conform trunk has a platform constructed around it is as old as the Wada itself.
Sajjangad "Fort of Good People", is located near the city of Satara.. It is the final resting place of Sant Ramdas in 18th century born in 1608 His teachings and works written in books such as Dasbodh are read and followed by many people even today in the state of Maharashtra and Sajjangad is a popular place of pilgrimage. The maintenance of the fort and the Samadhi of Sadguru Shri Samarth Ramdas Swami is taken care by 'Shri Ramdas Swami Sansthan',The daily routine on the fort includes Abhishek and Puja, Maha Naivedya, Bhajans and reading of the manuscript Dasbodh.
Baramotichi Vihir is a stepwell in Limb It was constructed between 1641 and 1646 by Virubai Bhosale. It is 110 ft deep and 50 ft in diameter. Limb village is situated around 16 km from Satara and approximately 99 km from Pune. The well is octagonal in shape and looks like dug-out Shivling.. It was meant to be a water source to all the farms around with its 12 moats. From the top, visitors can see few tiny walls and water channels. In this well discover old statues and historical structure. In this well there is sitting arrangement “bathak” is constructed.
