The dam is located 4 km from Wai. The dam was constructed in 1982. The dam is a source of irrigation, hydroelectricity, portable drinking water, Fishery and water sports. This dam is constructed on Krishna River originating from kshetra Mahabaleshwar. Away from the main gate of five hundred meter, one can enjoy the boating and beauty of nature Sahayadri Boat Club. Water activities like water scooters, speed boats, motor boats are a source of thrill for visitors. This place has also been home to many movies and serials.
Balkawadi dam is located 20 kms from AnandVan. It is a catchment area just below the famous kates point. This isolated dam has its own beauty with the mahabaleshwar mountains at its backdrop and jambhli jungle in the front. One can plan a nice picnic lunch at this location. A simple drive to this place in the monsoons is a breathtaking experience. For overnight treks, please carry a tent as there is no proper shelter on the fort.
Raireshwar is a hill fort of historical importance that is located towards the south west of Pune near Bhor. This is a beautiful place to visit during the monsoon or the winter season. The views from the fort are just breath taking. Ideal place for a one day trek and can also be made a two day trek if you plan to visit Rohida and Kenjalgad. This one is a simple trek as the government has recently built iron ladders to get to the top. But ensure that you always carry plenty of water with you.
The fort covers a flat area, 3-4 acres in size. It is surrounded by steep rock and can only be reached by perilously scaling this rock. Earlier, the approach was by an artificial tunnel, which started at the base of the rock and emerged on the top. Now this tunnel is blocked by a big rock which fell into it and was never removed. The base village of the fort is Tupewadi which is 30 km from Wai. The trekking path starts from the hillock south of the Tupewadi. The route is very safe. It takes about 2 hours to reach the machi.
4177 feet above sea level, is 4 km north-west of Wai. The fort is noticeable over a low spur branching east from its southern angle. From a distance it appears a square fortification with natural escarpment of cut black stone. The fort can be reached by a footpath diverting to the north from Bhoganv, a village 3 miles west of Wai on Wai -Velang State Transport route. In Bhoganv village, there is a small memorial of Vaman Pandit, the celebrated Sanskrit poet of the 15th century. Hill though not covered with thick forest has a considerable foliage of bushy shrubs.
